I'm not sure what you're asking? Is there an option to upgrade a base unit to Z-Wave?

 

If so yes . . .

 

Z-Wave has a lot more third party makers whereas there is only one Insteon maker. There are only a few devices where Insteon does not make.

 

Such as siren, locks, multi port outlets, multi sensor, etc.
