Just started having problems writing updates

System has been working fine for quite some time.  recently added a couple of new switchlincs (dual band) that worked great.  Went to try and add my hallway lights (Older 2476D switchlincs) to a scene (one is a slave switch with no local load), but the green icon showing that there are updates waiting to be written never goes away.  Tried right clicking the and forcing updates, but the green icon remains.

Decided to play with another switch to see if these switches went bad, I tried adding one of my known working switches to a scene, but ran into the same problem.  Decided to delete the device and re-add it.  When trying to add it, I get the error "Cannot determine Insteon Device Type".  I tried to add it again while using the event viewer.  Here's the trace:

I also tried to add a known working switch to an existing scene as a responder.  Same issue.  Green icon remains showing that updates have not been written to the device.  Here's the events from that attempt:

Help...not sure what to try next.  Fearful that if I try to make any changes to any other devices that I'm going to continue to make matters worse!

Device 0F.2E.0B did give a response on the third try indicating it is an I2 device but failed to give any response to the command asking for the device type.

An update to a link record in 06.D5.75 failed to get any response.

Was any new appliance added? Could one of the devices that are coupling the 120v legs lost power?

There is a comm problem.

Lee, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.  I recently moved access points (moved furniture around so had to find a new location).  I downloaded the instructions which state that they are on opposite phases if the light is blinking green.  My access points only have a white light, so I put it in a location where it was blinking white.  After you told me it could be a phase coupling issue, I decided to plug it in to the outlet right next to my other AP.  When I did, it blinked white.  Hmmm...tried a couple of outlets and found that there were only 2 behaviors; blinking white, or solid white.  Decided to leave it in an outlet where it is solid white and try writing updates to my device again.  It worked!  Guess there are some differences in the indicators with the APs.  Really appreciate the assistance.  Will be trying to add back in those other devices this afternoon.  Hopefully this was the main cause of my problems.  Thanks again....Eric

Just added the original problem devices without any problems!  Looks like this was definitely my issue.

Also found in a post from 2 years ago (http://forum.smarthome.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14248)

"The old V1.0 Access Points LED will go bright if it is seeing the communications and on the opposite phase. Flash Bright if communicating and on the same phase."

Anyone know where I can download older versions of the quick start guides and/or manuals?
