I would guess a magnetic contractor used to switch large motors would loose power as well and open the circuit to the motor. It may not be fast enough though...

So in the end i did click restore modem.

I remembered LeeG telling me to do it after another failure I had.

If your PLM is dropping links, then your PLM may be dying.  The power supply capacitors on 2413s are junk and usually need to be replaced after 2 years.  Not sure if this is your issue or not.  But you might want to consider this before your plm dies completely and leaves you stranded.

I agree based on the other thread you're simply buying time and its a ticking time bomb. I am sure you don't want to be doing all of the above work 99999999 times.
