JayC
I wanted to run my idea by people to get thoughts on my project. I want to use a FanLinc and a 6 Button KeyPadLinc. I want to be able to turn the light and fan on independently, as well as use the scene buttons to do a 50% and 100% light level, and 50% 100% fan speed. Does anyone else do anything similar? Xathros
The Fan section of the Fanlinc has 4 speeds: Off, Low, Med and High so 50% is not possible but you could use Low or Med in place of the 50%. With a 6 Button, I would use the main On button for my 100% light, A for the 50% Light and B,C,D for the fan Low, Med, High. -Xathros Link to comment
oberkc
Or, you could use the main button, set to 50% ON level, and double-tap for 100%. Theoretically, you could use the main button to toggle between the various avaliable fan speeds and reserve the four secondary buttons for light scenes or other purposes. Personally, I prefer separating big button and small buttons for common purposes...big for light, small for fan...or vice versa. Link to comment
larryllix
Or....You could just use an everyday SwitchLinc Dimmer to control everything. Off and On, dim and brighten for lights. Double tap On for Fan Low and then again for Med and then again for High Fan. Double tap Off turns fan Off. Lights will be a natural Off being connected to the switch. If lights are connected to the FanLinc, anything can be done. The SwitchLinc dimmer looks like a regular Decora wall switch but will take some wife training but won't freak out visitors or be so décor rude. Other SwitchLinc dimmer switches in the room can duplicate the commands and styles so that your fan can be operated from other angles too. Just some thoughts. I don't like the KPL for everyday switches. Link to comment
