Teken Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 Not sure if the Best Buy Ad is a typo but no where on the Swann site or any review does it say it supports Z-Wave. All of them indicate Zigbee and WiFi so not sure I would put much faith in the advert.

Two reviewers indicated only Zigbee / WiFi perhaps it's a typo or a newer version? Ideals are peaceful - History is violent

larryllix Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 Does the Echo actually control devices directly? I had two Wink Hubs and there was not one device it could directly control, at the time, when I returned them. It only talked WiFi to more bridges, despite it's seven hardware protocols built in. Loading the app again I see it still only talks to hubs on Hue, MiLights, and several others I tried. I was really hoping to eliminate half a dozen bridges in my HA system.

Teken Posted July 9, 2015 Posted July 9, 2015 I haven't had the time to look but who is the actual maker of the *Wink HUB*? I always find it interesting to see products that are half baked gain so much market share and adoption from other related HA companies. When you compare it to the likes of the ISY which is profoundly on the order of magnitude 100 times better. Yet these vendors never seem to get the same love or ability to add their wares for integration etc.
