Teken
It looks like the old MorningLinc chassis has finally been updated as seen here: http://www.smarthome.com/insteon-2862-222-lock-controller.html For what ever reason I was hoping something new would be included or updated with this device. It appears to me the features and operations remain the same? Anyone who has one of the older units please chime in when you get a chance to review the spec sheet and users manual located here: http://cache-m2.smarthome.com/manuals/2862-222-en-07092015-v2.pdf I do however love the use of the new style body of the unit when compared to the massive brick from previous generations. My hopes are that we will see the I/O Linc to be replaced with a dual band unit with more capacity, features, and programming options.
Brian H
It does look like it has basically the same features of the older one. In a more modern style case. There are a few errors on the sales page. Says power line only as I expected but also lists the 915MHz RF but Beacon test No. The FCC ID: SDFRF01. Is not an Insteon FCC ID. It is a key fob type MorningLinc remote. Using 434.0 MHz RF. I would think. Eventually Smartlabs will have to get their own FCC ID as it probably uses 434.0MHz RF to the MorningLinc Locks.

Yes, this is what I gathered this device is simply in a new case. I was really hoping they would take the time to offer more International devices such as this Lock Controller for our brothers across the pond. Its been several years now and there has been no movement in adding more supported devices for them? There are so many people around the world that really want to use and implement Insteon. Yet, Smartlabs continues to drag their feet in this area. How can you become a world leader in Home Automation and have fast adoption when your wares aren't even available for purchase? Brian H
I did see it has a new Insteon ID. Same Device Category 0F but a new Subcategory of 0A. Guess it may have to be added to the ISY Controller firmware of recognized Insteon Devices.

Michel Kohanim
Hello everyone, I really do not know why this is done without us being notified. And we do have the latest documentation. The way things are going, it seems that we'll never have an official 4.x release! Can anyone please confirm the 0x0A subcategory for the new MorningLinc? With kind regards, Michel
