Another no local status problem

Hi all,

I finally purchased an ISY-99pro and am about halfway through adding my devices and scenes. I am adding each device in by address, deleting existing links. Everything was going great until I noticed the admin console wasn't detecting device status that is changed locally. I can trigger scenes from the ISY just fine and and device status is updated when programs trigger.

So far NO local status is detected, whether it be from keypadlincs, dimmers, or switches. I have a mix of older and newer devices. The PLM is 2.9 and I have upgraded the ISY to 2.8.

I assume the admin console is supposed to update automatically and I shouldn't have to requery to see current status, correct?

Edit: I'm looking at the ISY Links table and it's blank. I click Start and select a device and nothing happens. I hit Count and it returns 0. Maybe I'm not doing this correctly but it kind of looks like there's nothing linked to the PLM. That would account for my total lack of local status. If this is the case, how do I correct it?

thanks,

Rob

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply. Doing as you suggested showed nothing. Clicking on Start and nothing happens, even after waiting a few minutes. I reset the PLM and did Restore Modem from the ISY. The PLM Link Table still doesn't show anything after clicking Start.

thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,

Apologies for the inconvenience.

If your PLM links table shows nothing, then we do have a problem. And, if your device links tables show nothing, then this is a more acute case.

Please do be kind enough to do the following and let me know:

1. Show ISY Links Table ... please do NOT choose the first device on the list

2. Show Device Links Table ... please do NOT choose the first device on the list

As far as not getting statuses, would you be kind enough to see if you have a KPL version 2.7 and above and let me know whether or not you are getting the status feedback?

Thanks and with kind regards,

Michel

Hi Michel,

Thanks for the reply and certainly no need to apologize for the problem.

Both Device Links and ISY Links now return results after having let things sit while I had dinner. I'm pretty sure they weren't earlier on. However the PLM Links still doesn't return anything. Clicking on Start and System Busy flashes (really) briefly.

I have 3 KPL dimmers show v.29 in the ISY. Pulling the wallplate off one reveals it as 1.4. Which is correct? It fails to register status change as does a KPL Relay (v.33 in the ISY).

thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,

This should indeed explain why you do not get any status feedback from switches: you have no link records in your PLM!

Would you be kind enough to do a File->Restore Modem (PLM) and let me know the outcome (make sure you do not do File->Remove Modem)? If you still have no link records in your PLM, then I suspect you have either a defective PLM or one which is not compatible with ISY !

With kind regards,

Michel

Hi Michel,

I again did the Restore PLM and appeared to go through each device and add it. It completed without any errors but the results are the same. The PLM Link Table is still empty whilst the others return results.

When I RMA the PLM should I try and get an earlier revision if that indeed is possible, or try whatever they send me?

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,

Thanks so very much. This is quite strange and one which I've never seen before! I do not think you have a choice as far as the version you are going to get so, as long as it's not a HouseLinc PLM, you should be OK (I hope)!

With kind regards,

Michel

Rob,

Thanks so very much for the update. Would you be kind enough to let me know which PLM version you had and what's the new PLM version?

With kind regards,

Michel

Just a quick update to let you know I replaced the PLM and rebuilt it. The ISY now detects local status and the PLM Links Table now populates when I view it.

Thanks for your help.
