paulbates Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I replaced a device today. I had difficulty putting both wireless devices in linking mode at the same time: Putting the second device in linking mode always knocked the first device out of linking mode. I finally solved it buy pressing both set buttons at the same time, and probably could have done each one at a time Is it an insteon thing that only one device can be in linking mode at 1 time? I got everything working, just curious at this point. Paul
Teken Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I don't believe a battery operated device has the ability to multi link in the way a hardwired device can. Even though they offer a multi unlink feature in the leak, triggerlinc, MS, etc. Is there a use case?
LeeG Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Yes, only one battery device at a time. Link/update device, when complete move to next device.

If you have everything laid out in front of you on the desk, there may be no point though. I was thinking ladder access to multiple devices.
paulbates Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 OK, makes sense. I've not had that many replacements, or many wireless only devices. Thank you all. Paul

Even if multi-lnking was available and you require climbing a ladder for each device, then the first would probably time out by the time you put the last into linking mode
paulbates Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Drag that ms surface up there with you
