I haven't got an ISY yet but I plan to and I figure its better to plan ahead instead of having to change something out later. I would prefer to use an all-in-one solution. I notice a lot of these zwave garage door openers are completely separate from the actual garage door opener.
stusviews Posted September 25, 2015 Posted September 25, 2015 I'm not sure what you mean by an all-in-one solution unless you're referring to a garage door opener with home automation built-in. I'm not sure such a system exists that's compatible with an ISY. That said, all home automation garage door operators are add-on's to existing garage door openers. Both Insteon (my preference) and Z-Wave systems are available, but you'll also need something the control the home automation device. Your existing garage door controller will continue to work.
