Dinboise Posted December 10, 2015 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Purchased both a door sensor and chime (Insteon from Smarthome). The Door sensor was linked using the manual way. The chime however refuses. I upgraded the ISY to the 4.3.26 version and cleared the cache. I uploaded the new version of the admin consul for good measure. After reading other posts about this I went ahead and ran an error report but I was given an error message. It just said it failed. Could someone tell me how I can run a level 3 error report. I think this is the next step to get you guys to fix this issue with the Smarthome guys right? Thanks David Link to comment

Thanks David Since the chime is a brand new product ISY will not have it in it's database for proper operation. You will have to wait for a future IS version release. I recommend you search for Request new features and voice in that thread. UDI listens. Link to comment

mwester Posted December 10, 2015 Share Posted December 10, 2015 Perhaps I'm missing something here... SmartHome/Insteon makes the device, but they don't know how it works? (I wonder if their hubs also don't support this thing... that'll make a lot of annoyed purchasers!!) Edited: Sorry, I didn't read carefully enough -- they're not saying that they don't know the API, they're saying that they don't know when they'll be able to share the API with UDI. I'm not sure that's better -- but at least it absolves SmartHome of gross ignorance! Link to comment

Thanks for keeping up with the new products - I did not realize the effort that goes into maintaining the ISY functionality. The ability to build creative programs for my instead products has been very rewarding. I got news I was to somehow monitor the front door in case my son tries to exit the home (he sleepwalks and has walked out of the home before, yikes). While this is not good news, I was glad to be able to quickly link a sensor to a few lights and an old X10 power horn on dim for a not so obnoxious alarm. So much better than one of the high decibel door alarms on the market. Anyway TMI - thanks for the good work you do. David Link to comment

Michel said they did not receive the API but where send some communications logs they maybe able to get information from. Hoping to eventually get support into one of the 5.xx firmware releases. I got two of Alert Modules in late December 2015 and I am still waiting for Smarthome to get the needed date to UDI. I place total blame of this no support on Smartlabs. As I know UDI is trying to get the API as soon as possible. Link to comment
