Anyone know how to delete the link seen highlighted here in oranage:

I tried adding the 0A.B3.00 ID as a new link, to then try and delete it; but, ISY99i PRO/IR won't take it as a new ID, without finding the device.

 

The issue is that no device in my customer's home has 00 in any of the ID fields. This isn't the only link like this. I found them using tables in HouseLinc2...and using the Link Table Downloader in SimpleHomeNet's Utility Suite's Manage Links tab. But, I'm trying to use ISY to manage everything for real.

If the ISY is not aware of that link you should be able to factory reset the device and then do a restore on it.

As Mike said, a Restore Device will get rid of the link if it is not in ISY's copy of the device's link database.

 

However, I'm wondering how this link came to exist in the first place. As far as I know, 62 is not a valid initial value for a link. The first byte of every link should be E2 (controller), A2 (responder), or 22 (deleted). [Doing a Restore Device will compact the database and remove deleted entries.]

The significant problem I always have with doing things like RESET/RESTORE is that it takes a couple of hours to replace all the links in the customer's switch(es). I go onsite to fix something and it takes hours....due to the number of links across the 87 Insteon devices.

 

Too often, I have to test things, onsite, start a Link Table update process, then leave the residence. Then, log in by remote to see if it is finished. And/or update things.....

I know it can take a while to restore a single KPL that has a lot of scenes associated with it, but it shouldn't take hours for a single KPL.

 

Not sure the source of this link, but I make a habit of factory resetting every Insteon device I install before adding it to the ISY to ensure there are no bogus links in there.

Perhaps you are doing File->Restore Devices and thus the reason it takes couple of hours.

 

To restore a single KPL, you have to right mouse click and choose Restore Device. As Mike said, this should not take more than a few minutes.
