Is home kit expected to be a new module as part of 5.x? Will these modules require deep development skills to implement or will a casual user be able to use these? The two things that I am particularly interested in is Honeywell Total Comfort integration and HomeKit. I'm hoping these both come in 5.x

If so UDI has no intention of supporting this protocol.

paulbates Posted December 21, 2015 Posted December 21, 2015 (edited) Homekit is not planned as Teken mentioned, primarily due partnership requirements and their effects on UDI as a business. You can search the forum for Homekit, I believe that some folks have found workarounds for using homekit without specific UDI features. Honeywell's integration is proprietary, like Homekit. I recently saw that there ITTT support for Honeywell. Its still a cloud based solution, so if you lose internet, you lose control from the ISY. Well, perhaps there is a middle ground that can be found. In this resource link it describes a method to use a HUB II with a 994 Series Controller. I would gather the process could be the same for a HUB Pro which is Apple Home Kit enabled: http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/17271-hub-ii-isy-echo-integration/ You can certainly try with in the 30 day return policy and if it works please do share the outcome and trials with the membership.

Will need to look at the hub integration further to see if it will also do the honeywell total home comfort, my alternative there is iRule (no cross device integration, but at least 1 UI)
