hardcoretuner Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I'm new to ISY. I received an ISY994i ZW/IR PRO for xmas. I've got everything setup for the most part. I can connect to my ISY using the MobiLinc app as long as my phone is on wifi and i have the mode set to local only. If I have the mode set to auto it doesn't work. I also cannot connect to my ISY via the ISY Portal. My ISY shows 'Online-Registered' in the Config-Portals tab. I've installed the networking module and mobilinc modules as well. I've searched all day, if someone has a page with this issue I'll probably lose my mind. lol. Please help. I am new to ISY, not networking or computers. Things I've done thus far include but are not limited too... - verifying local IP works - verifying Upnp was check, my netgear is compatible - used DHCP and manual modes both, no good with manual mode, couldn't get ISY finder to locate ISY. - I'm using a compatible PLM - changed ports for both HTTP and HTTP - Set static address for port forwarding in router ...... Please help me..... Thanks H
stusviews Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 You should not need to use a secure port if you've installed the portal because the portal provides secure access. First, let's ensure that you have the correct portal installed. Does it look like the attached image?
MWareman Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 I also cannot connect to my ISY via the ISY Portal. My ISY shows 'Online-Registered' in the Config-Portals tab. hardcoretuner Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 I added the module for the MobilLinc Portal. It was $1. I've registered for the ISY Portal but hadn't decided which portal I was going to use for sure. I'm wanting to try the MobiLinc one first. My main goal is to get my IP cams recording or taking pictures. No my screen not match the screen shot you attached. It has only the "Online-Registered" portion. Nothing below that.

Unless you've subscribed to Mobilinc Connect the mobilinc portal won't do you any good and is restricted in usage to mobilinc. The ISY Portal is basically a secure portal you can use in any number of ways and IMO a much better value. Jon...

I've registered for the ISY Portal but hadn't decided which portal I was going to use for sure. The Mobilinc Portal is only usable with a Mobilinc Connect subscription ($30/year or $199 lifetime currently). It does have a trial, and it offers push notifications (IOS Only), voice control(IOS Only), geofencing (IOS Only) and easy remote access. The ISY Portal offers easy remote access, multiple user accounts and Alexa integration for $50 for 2 years. Both solutions have more features planned, but you cannot use both, you'll have to contact UDI support to get that one straightened out... Decide which one you want, have UDI disable the other one. The ISY only supports a single Portal connection.

Jon, Mobilinc Connect is not just for the Mobilinc app - you can also use the Admin Console via the Mobilinc Portal. It does still require an active Mobilinc Connect subscription. I do agree though, as an Android user the ISY Portal is *much* better. For IOS users though it's less clear since Mobilinc Connect offers several useful features for Mobilinc Connect users that are also IOS users. Yet another example of how Android users are disadvantaged with Mobilinc. Michael.
hardcoretuner Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 I've only enabled or installed MobiLinc. The ISY Portal I'v only created an account on. Anyone have fix for why I can't get connected to my ISY outside of my own network? Thats my real problem I guess. I prob shoulda post this elsewhere. MODS: Please move or delete thread as needed, I can re-post question in better location if directed where that would be exactly... Thanks, H
hardcoretuner Posted December 29, 2015 Author Posted December 29, 2015 Well. I've continue troubleshooting. And I've discovered that if I enter my external IP address in my address bar, no HTTPS, just HTTP only, and I enter the port I have set in UDA Console for HTTPS, I can access the page, though it says my certificate is wrong. To summarize... External IP - 123.123.123.123 Internal IP - 192.168.1.10 HTTP Port - 25201 HTTPS Port - 25202 http://123.123.123.123:25202 = WORKS (but shouldn't) https://123.123.123.123:25202= NO http://123.123.123.123:25201= NO All internal IP address combos work.

I've never actually used Mobilinc Connect but IIRC was offered a free trial when I installed Mobilinc and then purchased the portal for it but never made use of it. Thanks, Jon...

You need to use a DDNS (dynamic domain name server) to access ISY from outside your network or a Portal (ISY Portal) if your domain isn't registered. There are many free DDNS servers available and can be used for connecting Mobilinc as well as the UI. I was using duckdns and was happy with it. Jon...
Michel Kohanim Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Hi hardcoretuner, You probably have port forwarding rules for both http and https (80 and 443). Please remove the http. With kind regards, Michel
