fed Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I'm having a little bit of trouble - the last time this occurred I wiped the device and started over from scratch and things worked out. I was trying to add one of the Aeotec mini remotes, after "adding" it to the network nothing appeared in the main ISY device tree. I tried running a heal but it didn't work... so I tried to remove/exclude the device (which is when this same issue happened last time). 1) Unexpected NULL database: Unexpected NULL database for uid=10 0x0A 2) If I add a different device, the numbering is now +2 from the previous (it skips the device that I had removed) I can't add the device again as I continue getting the NULL database error. Log attached (level 3) Advice?

Michel Kohanim Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 Hi fed, Mini remotes are not yet supported (multi channel) but should be very shortly. With kind regards, Michel
fed Posted January 3, 2016 Author Posted January 3, 2016 Hi Michel, Hah! That would explain why the remotes aren't working I'm still trying to understand the issue of the null database log as well as the zwave device numbering. When you exclude a device and then add it back the zwave device id increments leaving a gap in the id numbering. Is this intended behavior? Regarding the NULL database entry - this has occurred in the past with devices which were supported, but required me to wipe everything (hard reset, reflash zwave firmware on the dongle, etc) to get them to included in the network again (this has occurred after a excluding the device, synching + healing and trying to include it again). It would appear something isn't being completely purged when you exclude/include a device under certain conditions. Cheers, --F
Michel Kohanim Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Hi fed, Null database entries are benign and they do happen when ISY clears the cache (for a variety of reasons) and recreates the database. Device IDs are generated by the underlying Z-Wave library in the dongle and we have no control over them. And, yes, number are NOT reused till you reach 232. With kind regards, Michel
fed Posted January 6, 2016 Author Posted January 6, 2016 It would appear that I am just too stubborn and delete/re add things before the cache gets cleared. Is there any way to force the flush? Cheers, Fed
Michel Kohanim Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 Hi Fed, Yes you are! No, Unfortunately no. With kind regards, Michel
