larrydreher
I followed the video and set up the portal and linked my echo to it. The link from the echo app, popped up a box that allowed me to sign in to the portal. The echo seems happily linked. It recognizes the skill. I'd like to go into the portal to type in some spoke words and when I attempt to do that I get the following message: Your portal user profile is not linked to an Amazon account. This will prevent you from using the Alexa Connected Home. To link your account, please go to My profile." Ideas? Link to comment
stusviews
Open Alexa and select Settings. Select your Echo. Is you Echo registered? Link to comment
larrydreher
I'm Assuming you mean in the Alexa app... Yes, the echo is registered to my amazon account. I was an original beta tester and have been using it since it first launched. Just to try again, I deactivated the izzy skill and reactivated it which caused me to log onto the portal again to link them. I'm having the same result. Also, I did enter a spoken word in the Java app under notes. When I tried to sync that from my echo, the echo Said the sync was obsolete. Link to comment
MWareman
. Also, I did enter a spoken word in the Java app under notes. When I tried to sync that from my echo, the echo Said the sync was obsolete. Don't do that anymore. For Alexa, all spoken words are managed in the portal, and the portal spoken words do not sync with the ISY spoken words. When managing in the portal, a sync is unnecessary. I also had the error about linking when I first added the connected home module. I logged out and back in to the portal and have not had it since. Michael. Link to comment
larrydreher
I have tried logging into and out of the portal and have even tried two different devices. Both have the same error. Link to comment
larrydreher
More information... I still get the same error message I originally copied into my first post. But after I answer OK to the message, The window were I can enter spoken words is available. I've tried entering several but the echo doesn't recognize any of them. I'm still thinking there is something wrong with the setup that causes the first warning and then the failure of the echo to recognize the devices. another question... Am I in the right spot for support or should I have submitted a support request through a more formal channel? Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi larrydreher, I am so very sorry to hear. Yes, support tickets are usually handled much quicker than responses to forum posts. With kind regards, Michel Link to comment
timlacey
The YouTube video showing how to link the ISY Portal and Alexa says that the spoken words will sync both directions with the ISY. If this is not the case any longer, why is there still a SYNC button? Anyway, it doesn't work for me, so I assume the post above is correct that it does not work. Shouldn't it? Why would the portal list of spoken commands not sync with the ISY? Link to comment
stusviews
What specifically doesn't work for you? The procedure is to use the portal to add devices, scenes and/or programs, assign a spoken and then use the Alexa app to discover devices. Where is that not working for you? Link to comment
