stusviews
We had power turn off and on a few times within several seconds. The ISY was lit up including the red error LED. Power cycling the ISY solved that problem, but the Alexa gave "that command doesn't work ..." I browsed to the portal and did a refresh (twice) and opened the Alexa app and issued "Discover devices." Alexa replied with, "I can't find any connected home devices," but Alexa responds correctly to commands. Quote Link to comment
jerlands
Do you show a list of devices in the Portal app > Tools > Amazon Echo Alexa's list of devices is stored on it's server and won't change unless "discover devices" is issued so I suspect you've lost communication between ISY and the portal. I don't know if using "refresh" in UI > Config > Portals would have any effect or not. Jon... Quote Link to comment
stusviews
The portal shows the correct numbers of devices as before the power glitch, so does connected home. I didn't do anything with the ISY except to power cycle it. Everything appears to work including scenes, devices, programs, window coverings. The only abnormality is that Alexa consistently reports, "I couldn't find any connected home devices." Prior to the power glitch Alexa always reported a value for the number of connected devices. Please double-check the following: - In the Echo App, under settings/connected home, is ISY still there and enabled? - In portal, in My Profile, is your account still linked? I would try to unlink and relink. FYI, in the spoken window, pressing "refresh" does nothing other than refreshing the screen with data from the portal server. Benoit. Quote Link to comment

Looking at the logs, I see a successful device discovery around 8pm, eastern time. Benoit. Quote Link to comment
stusviews
Everything works as expected except that Alexa reports, "I couldn't find any connected home devices." The only problem is what Alexa reports, not with what is actually found. Quote Link to comment
stusviews
I used a spoken that I had not yet created. As expected, Alexa could not find the device in my profile. I then created the spoken and had the Echo discover devices. Although Alexa couldn't find any devices, the spoken worked flawlessly. Quote Link to comment

Have you tried disabling and re-enable the ISY skill in the Echo app? Disable, log out for a minute or 2. Log back in and Enable the ISY skill. Just a thought. -Keith Edited February 2, 2016 by KeithL Quote Link to comment

I could not find any error, the discovery seems to complete correctly. However, I notice that you have a lot of devices, close to 300. It may be that there is just too much for Alexa to digest, and it may timeout somewhere. If you are not using all of those devices, I would suggest to do a cleanup and reduce the number of devices exposed to echo. Benoit. Quote Link to comment
stusviews
Down to about 1/2 the devices and Aleaxa still can't find any connected home devices. I cleaned both the portal and connected home list. I had no difficulty when I had even more that 300. I still have no difficulty with the functioning of voice commands, only the Alexa message. Cleaning both the portal and the connected home list was quite a chore. Only one device can be selected at a time, there is no indication that you've selected the correct device, only a mouse click works (can't make a selection using the cursor keys) and no default is selected, so pressing [Enter] doesn't work. The connected home list is even worse because devices are listed randomly and there's no way to sort the list. Quote Link to comment

I found your last discovery in the logs: 2016-02-02, 22:11:59 - info: Lighting API: <your IP> DiscoverAppliancesRequest uuid <your uuid> <your portal login> 2016-02-02, 22:11:59 - info: Lighting API: <your IP> 148 devices discovered 2016-02-02, 22:11:59 - info: <your IP> POST /api/voice/lighting/event processed successfully Portal returns to Alexa without errors. It must be that there is something in the data that Alexa does not like, if it's not the quantity. Benoit. Down to about 1/2 the devices and Aleaxa still can't find any connected home devices.
