Davonavo Posted February 7, 2016 Share Posted February 7, 2016 I have 4 2852-222 Rev 2.3 Leak Sensors on my system, Ver 4.2.30.All report to Admin Console as DON when button on unit is pressed. Activity on powerline is present. I am unable to write a basic event i.e If Leak Sensor # X is switched on, then Insteon device On. Believe this was operational before. Do not require elaborate event, just "If This, Then That". Thanks. Link to comment
jerlands Posted February 7, 2016 Share Posted February 7, 2016 I'm uncertain I understand the issue but the easy way to test is to have the leak sensor nearby and a means to create a wet condition then open event viewer to level 3 and observe events. Also observe status condition of leak sensor wet in UI and report back failed conditions. Leak Sensor Test - [ID 00DA][Parent 00CC] If 'Leak Sensors / AC Evaporator / LS - A.C. Evap-Dry / LS - A.C. Yes, DON is Insteon for "device on" (I think It may be you either need to save your program or enable it. jerlands Posted February 8, 2016 Share Posted February 8, 2016 I think what might be happening here is your condition is changing from On to Off (maybe you're removing it from the wet location) and so when condition is reevaluated, wait is terminated. Test is LampLinc module 2456D3. I am not sure I reading this problem correctly but.... How do you know the Leak is sending a DON signal? Somewhere in the Leak Sensor's history they changed what the button does. I have two older units and two newer units. The newer units can send WET or DRY depending if you tap the button quickly or hold it for a second or more. When attempting to clear my detection programs, after testing, a short tap cleared the older two unit's WET signal but resent the WET signal ON for the two newer units. A longer tap on the two newer units cleared the WET and sent the DRY -On signal. Having said all that above, I may have the logic backwards with the short vs long tap reversed in my head. It's been a while now so do some experimentation with the length of tap.. Link to comment

Do you see any type of activity from the LED on the sensor when placed in the wet environment? What version of the UI are you using (admin console help > about?) If the event viewer is showing successful reception of the command, but your programs are not successful, then either your ISY is corrupt, or your program is not working as you think it should. Davonavo Posted February 8, 2016 Author Share Posted February 8, 2016 Leak Sensor is tested sitting in shallow puddle of water,deep enough to immerse contacts. All sensors common to same program. Others are not in convenient location for access. ISY is working fine with other Insteon devices with very few failures. Believe my problem deals with how program is written, or step by step implementation. These units do not seem to be as compatible with ISY as others I have dealt with. Link to comment

Our friend EVIL Teken (sp) said the mineral content of the water was important. I have been testing with bottled water. When I switched to tap water, circuit works. If that was true, the solution strength of the water would not make any difference to what the ISY does with the trigger inside Perhaps you were triggering a different unit than the program you were testing. This indicated ISY could see unit with button press. Failure occurred when trying to replace button press with electrical path between contacts on bottom of Leak Detector through conducting medium, mineral containing water. Link to comment

Look for a False folder or some other situation that is interfering with Program function. Did not mention if Leak Sensor is located in leak detection location. If in a different location for testing comm could be a factor. Link to comment

I just had to replace a battery in a LS and afterwards test all functions and during wet test found it didn't work even though showed off status so hit set button again and that reset it so it triggered? Not certain the issue I had but you bring up a good point Jon... Link to comment

Placement through house and coverage underway. Steady On operation of sounder, even though I time it thru ISY, is a screamer. Would like to find 1 sec on, 1 sec off circuit to build or buy. Trying to get this implemented while considering the WAF. Thanks to all. Link to comment
