My city hookup is down by the street where I have the meter and 2 main panels which feed three subpanels in the house. I have a workshop/garage which is attached to the house by a breezeway and was powered from those subpanels in the main house. I wanted more power. So I decided the best way to handle this was to run a new yard line since fishing wires through the house was going to be a lot more work (I already had conduits in the ground). The distance is about 120 feet. So now the panels at the street feed 4 subpanels. Anyway, Insteon switches work just great out there even though the signal is going from the house, to the street and back out to the workshop. The devices I have out there are not dual band, so it is making the journey through a surprising length of wire. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
