i thought it was interesting that i ended up with a Switchlinc dimmer (2477D) that had an insteon address of 24.77.DD

I just was amused at the coincidence.

Very nice haven't seen one of those before but a friend had one that was something like: 0D.01.E0.

When he first saw it he thought it said DIE . . .

He wasn't too impressed with that KPL but its been running fine for about three years now.

Electronic Industrial Engineering Inc. has announced a new interface protocol for computer I/O they are calling ....

Ready for it....?

      the  "Old McDonald interface."

This was produced by  a marketing team looking for a better name than one simply based

on the design company's name.

                                                   "E.I.E. I/O"

OMG! See what you guys have driven me to?

Some 25 to 30 years ago, while in the telecommunications industry, I dreamed up the following:

Old McDonald had a box
  with EIA I/O
and on this box he had some ports
  with EIA I/O

With an Input here,
  and an Output there
Here a bit, there a byte
  everywhere a nibble, nibble

Old McDonald had a box
  with EIA I/O
