Kevin Connolly Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 There's an app called Roger for both Andriod and IOS that connects with Echo. It's basically a walkie talkie phone app (a la the old Sprint). My guess is the developer read through the Java code that Amazon posted on github for the Raspberry Pi. I tried it out and was able to turn on a house light remotely. Quote
paulbates Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) Nice! Thanks for the info Kevin. I want to install echo sometime this year and this is another good reason. Edited April 16, 2016 by paulbates Quote
Kevin Connolly Posted April 16, 2016 Author Posted April 16, 2016 It's kinda cool. It won't do weather though...unless you want/need to know the weather at Amazon HQ in Seattle. Quote
Kevin Connolly Posted April 16, 2016 Author Posted April 16, 2016 Fixed the weather issue. The Roger app sets itself up as an Echo device on the Alexa app so all I had to do was to change its location settings. Quote
jerlands Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 KOOL! Great find! Got it working with Echo and maybe later will play with other features. Jon... Quote
