The New Year Lights scene was created just for this program. I included most of the common lights in our home. Checking the Apply Changes To All Devices box I set the ramp rate at 4.5 seconds. Then I unchecked that box and using the current levels displayed in the upper pane I set the On Level for each device (our Evening scenario) so when the program is done flashing the lights they are all returned to a normal value.

When Variables are available it will be possible to read and store the current level of each lamp before the flashing begins, but for now, and with the devices I included in the scene, these defaults should work well for ending the show.

Thats Cool Rand. The flashing part if fairly straightforward...the part about returning the lights to their (almost) previous settings is ingenious. I would have never thought of doing it that way! It never ceases to amaze me what can be done with this very simple system....with just some thought and creativity.

When I first got the ISY, I thought "man...this is very basic and not near the amount of power I want...I am going to need a computer based system"...man was I wrong.

I now have 24 hours to get mine done...my wife will be so proud! That reminds me, quick story: We got a new pest control guy today...he finishes up and after giving us the bill he says "I see these buttons and lighted switches all over the place...what is that?" I proceed to tell him...he thinks it's cool, etc. etc. Wife rolls her eyes and walks out of the kitchen. Man I love this stuff!!

It should take about 10 minutes to do. I only included one light in the scene to experiment with so I sort of snuck it around the wife until midnight tomorrow ;)

Just don't over-do it with hours of lights flashing and it should be good. Maybe include the bedroom lights beckoning 10 minutes later...

Happy New Year!

When you select the schedule, at the bottom you will see a check box for "Daily". Turn that off and you will get a drop down box for a specific date.

how do you get the date in the schedule part of the program? I don't see that option there.

when I uncheck "daily" it only gives me the days of the week as options, no dates.

When you uncheck On Days you can select individual days. When you uncheck Daily you should get a date selection box.

However, might I suggest NOT using the date today, because of the bug described here? Instead, just look for the time being midnight (and remember to disable the program tomorrow).

Good point Darrell, I hope Rand see's this...or he's gonna be pissed when it doesn't work tonight!

I see it but I won't be home to see the lights flash. I figured I could bother the kids with it

Yeah, I just set mine to Wednesdays, at 11:59:59PM (1 second early). Now I have a week to remember to turn it off.

Jim H.

Jim, actually the day of the week is also incorrect today--it says Monday instead of Wednesday.

Hello all,

The bug is GUI related and has no impact on the correct functioning of your programs.

With kind regards,

Michel

Oh, OK. I thought you were as lame as me.

I think I fell asleep at like 9:30pm. :) 3 kids will do that to you I guess.

I remember those days. I'm hoping grandchildren will do that to me in the future. For now I can stay up all night if I want! We (most of the party) went to a gin mill for breakfast this new year morning :D
