Unable to discover ISY device

Hi guys,

 

I've setup the ISY portal and linked my Amazon account under my profile.  I've also been able to successfully link Alexa with ISY (which automatically adds the ISY Optimized for Smart Home skill), but it does not show up when I select "Discover devices" within the Amazon Alexa app.

 

I've tried deleting and re-adding my portal account to link my Amazon account again, revoking the UDI portal and adding it back in, switching browsers... From the app, I tried disabling the skill and searching for ISY Smart Home v2 of the skill.  Then a window pops up needing to discover smart home devices.  Then Alexa fails to discover any smart home devices.  Just wondering if you guys can help me out.  Thanks in advance.

It will not automatically discover all the devices on the ISY. You must add those devices from the portal and give them a spoken name. Here is the instruction from the wiki: "Under Select Tool choose Connectivity | Amazon Echo and enter mappings between your devices, scenes, and programs to their associated and desired spoken names."

 

Not very thorough, but once you are there you will see buttons at the top for Scene, Device, and Program. Click on what you would like to add, then from the drop-down select the respective item you want to add, and then in the text fields below add you spoken name(s).

I got it working.  Thanks for the help guys.  I believe I was getting confused with the warning I was getting in the ISY portal about the "ISY skill is is not linked to your portal user user profile".  Found the info on another thread posted here: http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/19380-isy-v2-skill-linking/

Troubleshooting begins with specifics. Which device did you add to the portal? What spoken did you assign? Which skill are you using? But first, select Configuration, Portals. Does it show Online and Registered?

Device added:  SwitchLink - 2477D

Spoken: master bedroom

Skill: ISY Optimized for Smart Home V2"

Both show online and registered

But you list two devices. Also, you mention both online and registered. Devices don't show that, the portal does which is what I asked about. Do you have two portal accounts? Also, did you add the Sonos skill?

 

In any case, I suggest that you update to ISY v3. You'll need to forget all devices first, disable v2, enable v3 and then discover devices-in that specific order.
