Blown ISY and restoring

Came home from vacation to find that a power surge from storms came thought our cable TV and Internet connection. It looks like the surge traveled through the cable modem, router and the network switch. My foscam made it okay, but it looks like the ISY is toast. No network link and can't talk to it. Rebooted multiple times and Used a new switch and cables, and tried connecting it directly through to the new router... No luck. Smarthome has a sale going, so I guess I'll pick up a replacement.

I have faithfully made backups everytime I touched the ISY. Is the only thing I need to do on the new ISY is to restore my last backup? I'm assuming the existing PLM is okay. Don't know of anyway of testing that without the new ISY.

Thanks for any hints or tricks.

Before you spend any money please look in the WiKi to complete a hard reset. If that doesn't work at least you tried that solution. Also for clarity sake are you indicating there is absolutely no LED's lit up upon power up? The LED sequence will let us know what state its in.

I would also try another power supply in case that blew simple check.

If it is completely dead with no LEDs On.

I would second the recommendation of checking the wall wart power supply first.

On the off chance the ISY994i is completely fried and you get a new one.

UDI should be able to transfer most of optional purchased options modules to the new one. By giving them the old uuid for the old one and the uuid of the replacement.

Yes, the UUID is also listed on a white sticker inside affixed to the main board. I call this out because normally a person would obtain the UUID by selecting Help->About in the Admin Console.

Thanks all. Power LED is on. New switch isn't showing any link and router log isn't showing any activity or dhcp request. I performed a hard reset (twice). The lights all come on as expected thru the reset cycle, but after it boots, only a very faint flash on receive about a half second per. I think the surge killed the network connection. Different power supply didn't help either.

The surge came through the cable. My ups didn't have any activity codes recorded in the log. The ISY was plugged in to the UPS. The cable modem fried (burnt smell) and wouldn't power on. I think it sent voltage out the network port which went to the router then small network switch. The network port on my tivo DVR is the same as the ISY, but i was able to switch it to wireless and it is back online. Router is the same, hard reset could't bring it back. So, new cable modem, router and small network switch. Everything back up except for the ISY.

Thanks for your suggestions.
