2420m Motion Sensor - As compared to X10 Hawkeye?

Hi,

I am having a few issues with my 2420M sensor. I did add it to ISY & it shows the status (Battery & dusk dawn dont do anything).

1. It doesnt show up on my "devices" page in the HTML layout (but it is in the admin section).

2. I also set jumper 2 to the "jumped" position assuming it would stop that red flashing light (it has not).

3. One other thing, I have a Hawkeye X10 motion sensor for Homeseer. The way it works is it sends constant on commands which Homeseer sees, if there is no motion it stops sending on commands. I dont want to use the unit without ISY programming so I dont want that countdown turned on (how do I turn that off)?

Thanks,

Rich

1. when you click the main tab in the admin console, then click "my lighting", on the left you will see the motion sensor on three lines, dusk/dawn, low batt and motion sensor with a percent sign looking thing next to all of them, but you will not see it on the right side. it is a sensor so I guess that is the reason it isn't on the right panel.

2. I don't know about the jumper, but you could try using the ISY to turn down or off the little red light. to do this, click on the sensor and then click on "set options". You'll need to put the unit in program mode to make it happen.

3. the way the 2420 works, is it sends one on command and then when the time runs out, it sends one off command. (unless you have the jumper on that disables the off). There is a jumper that disables the off, I'd look here:

I would also say read the latest manual. I believe after a jumper is moved a procedure has to be followed before the change happens.

Just push the white button after a jumper change is all it says. :)

Hrmm, I have done that & I still see the red light.

1. Setup Motion Sensor with ISY.

2. 2 hours later, change jumper 2 to "on"

3. Press white button (same as the programming button)

Nothing changes.

Should I pull the battery?
