deza Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 io_guy, I had the EVL installed, but it seemed to cause interference with the monitoring of my home security company. They were reporting a "loss of radio supervision." Actually, the signal would restore, but it would go out again, and repeat continuously. I had to disconnect it in the meantime so my home security company I'm subscribed to could see me. If I find a workaround, I'll connect it again.
kaphely Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Did you follow this guide? https://www.eyez-on.com/EZMAIN/evl3honeywell.php If you have a Cellular module for central station supervision, the important step would be to do this IP/GSM/LRR ShadowingThe EnvisaLink 3 has the ability to work even if you already have an IP, GSM, or LRR module installed. This is done by a method called "shadowing". If you have such a module, and you have it enabled (*29 data field is set to 1), then click this check-box and hit modify. Failure to do this could result in both modules failing to operate correctly.
deza Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 kaphely, Thanks for the tip. I got it working after I logged into EVL's local IP address and checked the box indicated by shadowing. I confirmed that I still have radio supervision with my home security company.
io_guy Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I've released a program (HonLink) which uses the Eyez-On EVL3 to communicate with the ISY for anyone interested. viewforum.php?f=99
Panda88 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Michael Are the plans to support vista security system still in place or is it on hold? Thanks Chris
mdonato Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I'm very interested in the status of the HoneyWell Vista support as well. In particular the Vista21 IP along with the Tuxedo Touch Keypad. I would love to see the ISY be able to fire off the Z-Wave functions of the Tuxedo Touch. Maybe this could be done with the network module since the Tuxedo Touch has a built in web server for access. Just trying to find a way to integrate the Vista and use Z-Wave Kwikset locks and I want to put in the Brultech GEM, but I then have to decide between Z-Wave or Zigbee on my ISY. (I'd be happy with ISY Zigbee support for the KwikSet Zigbee locks as well, but from what I read, that seems further off than the Vista support) Any insight on any of this? Sorry about all of the rambling, I sometimes feel like I have all this potential sitting in my ISY and I am just waiting for it to be unleashed. Keep up the solid products, just hoping for more things to do with it!
Michel Kohanim Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Hello mdonato and Panda88, Just a brief overview of our design decisions: since we have had many requests to support a variety of devices and since we are resource constrained, we decided to come up with generic device classes (such as security system), commands, and events thereto such that they can become part of ISY event/program framework. This way, pretty much every device can be supported as long as there's something that can feed ISY with status updates and ISY can in turn send commands to it. All this is in 5.0 framework. Now, with the long answer out of the way, the short answer is: we do not have any plans for "direct" support of Vista security panels but, in 5.0, an intermediary (even if Tuxedo) and communicate with ISY. With kind regards,
