Linking a Contro-Linc

I tried to follow the instructions in the wiki, but when I click link management\link a control linc, I am given not the box in the wiki illustration about holing down button one, but a box that asks for the address and link behavior. I tried to put in the address, but I don't see the links from the control linc. Am I doing something wrong?

Hello lloverin,

I do apologize for the inconvenience. We changed the way ControLincs/LampLincs are linked in 2.6.13. Wiki has not been updated with these changes.

Did you enter the address and then chose the 3rd option?

With kind regards,

Michel

I did do that, and I believe it still doesn't see the Control-Linc. I do not see the box that it is updating. And there is no list for the control-linc keys in the network list.

Hello lloverin,

Would you be kind enough to do the following:

1. Tools->Diagnostics->Event Viewer (Level 2)

2. Link Management->Link a ControLinc

3. Enter the address

Please send event viewer log to support@universal-devices.com. Please put "http://forum.universal-devices.com/posting.php?mode=quote&p=16492" as the subject.

Thanks and with kind regards,

Michel

I'm having a problem too. I start the "Link a ControLinc process", the "Initializing System" popup appears, it runs for a few seconds, identifies the Insteon address (05.BC.DC.1). Then there's another popup: "Cannot Communicate With (05.BC.DC.1). Please check connections."

HouseLinc had no problems linking to it.

The Event Viewer completed without any obvious errors, the last message saying, "---- All Linked Devices are now initialized...."

The ControLinc buttons appear in My Lighting but the ControLinc was never actually initialized nor does it read the links that were (and still are) there. There's also a red exclamation point next to 05.BC.DC.1.

Hello smanes,

There's surely a communication problem causing this. Is your PLM plugged into the same outlet as your HouseLinc's PLM used to be plugged into? If not, please give it a try.

With kind regards,

Michel
