Receive Status but cannot Control

I have an outdoor SwitchLink that I get status messages immediately (on/off), but cannot control via the ISY994i.  The local switch functions normally.  The modem is connected to a plug strip, and has no issues with the ~10 other devices in the home.  I moved the modem to a different location, and eliminated the surge suppression plug strip, but it does not impact performance.

Any ideas on how to fix?

(The unit used to work properly, I think a few weeks ago, but last year for sure.)

Run a diagnostics / compare link tables on the Switchlinc

If you have any mismatched links then do a restore device which will rewrite the devices link tables.

If that doesn't solve your issue then you most likely have a communications issue between the PLM and the Switchlinc

What type of load is the switchlinc controlling?

The switch link is just controlling some (LED) Christmas lights.

When running diagnostics, I get a "Failed reading device link [-200000/-5] No network connection [[DHCP] state=renew - and then the admin console crashes.

Different errors seem to come up each time, with a focus on communication issues.  The picture does not seem to change, even when I plug the switch link directly into the outlet strip with the PLM.

Which version of the ISY firmware and UI are you running

A switchlinc is hardwired device, how are you plugging it in?. What's the model number of the device?

If you remove the LED lights then run the diagnostics what happens?

Plugging the PLM or other devices into a outlet strip could interfere with the Insteon signal. Try bypassing the strip

I have tested with loads unplugged as well; consistent results throughout, including bypassing the plugstrip.

My ISY (/Java) keeps crashing as I try to update to the current release; installed is 6-8 months old. For a while I had the firewall blocking internet access for all IoT devices, but I disabled that to try and upgrade.

The device model is the outdoor plug-in on/off control. When status changes via the local switch, it is reported immediately, but I cannot control it via the web (or Java) interface.

Ouch!

There has been a new java release basically every week for the last 6 months. I would uninstall it, then delete the folders that contain the mass of dirt, it leaves behind, get a fresh up-tp-date java install, and then try again.

You will also need to allow your ISY IP address through your windows firewall and your java firewall.
