mbro Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 It has been a long time since I last visited this website. Things were working OK until I upgraded my iPhone and now Safari won't accept the self-signed SSL certificate (I can connect via local LAN). Anyway, I was wondering if ISY Portal would be useful for remote access, and if it is a pay service. I went to my.isy.io and entered the uuid of my (old) isy99ir, and it says it is offline. Thanks for any info you can provide. Quote
paulbates Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) The firmware updates for the 99i stopped a few years ago, and that firmware has deprecated SSL certificates vs current TLS, That's what's caused the issue. Said in a straightforward way, you'll want to start by upgrading your ISY 99i to the 994i and the latest firmware. Depending what software to access the ISY you are running on your iphone, that will likey solve that problem. The portal has a lot of advantages, but on the 99i you won't be able to participate. UDI offers an upgrade path for you, see the upgrades and refurbished: https://www.universal-devices.com/sales/ Paul It has been a long time since I last visited this website. Teken Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Just to add to Paul's comments the quick and dirty features of the portal are these in no specific order of importance. The portal costs $49.99 for a two year subscription. - Remote access, control, view error / standard logs. - Multi Login - No port forwarding - Network Module - Remote Upgrade - Manage multi controlers - IFTTT, Amazon Echo, support: Soon to come Honeywell TSTAT, Push Bullet? mbro Posted December 23, 2016 Author Posted December 23, 2016 Thank you for the info. I might ask Santa for a refurb unit. Quote
MWareman Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Thank you for the info. I might ask Santa for a refurb unit.If you currently have a 99i, you may find the upgrade offer more attractive than a refurb. It's on the UDI sales page... Quote
Teken Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 As noted the ISY Web Portal comes with the Network Module for the duration of your subscription. I would however say if you don't already have the module that you consider buying it directly. As this ensures no matter what you do this incredible feature will continue to allow you access, manage, and connect to network devices on the LAN / WAN along with cloud hosted services. Quote
Waketech Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 So on the WIKI it says that Please Note that your request will cause the Network Module to be Uninstalled and not accessible after the expiration of the ISY Portal Subscription I assume this means that the ISY Portal takes over all these functions and if something happens to the Portal then I can go back to using the network module as a stand-alone ?, secondly if I purchase the module do I need to email support to get it turned off ? Thanks Quote

stusviews Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 The portal and network module have entirely different functions/uses. Quote
