Everytime i try and access the main consol i get that message. Tried the consol link saved on desktop and it freezes my pc. Is there any way isy is moving away from this platform. Its really annoying that i cant access isy. This is on a windows 10 machine tht i had no problems using before.

We are told that Yes - ISY management is moving away from Java. It will likely take a while - likely in the order of years.

That being said, I use Win 10, hate Java yet I use my ISY admin console all the time without issue. We need to debug what's wrong with your system to figure out your trouble. You'll be needing Java for a while to come...

What version of the ISY firmware and UI are you using?

What version of Java are you using?

What message do you get?

I'm also running Windows 10 and have no issues accessing the Admin Console using the Java app.

Hello all,

I would not say "order of years" ... this is something very important and high priority on our list.

With kind regards,

Michel

Didn't mean to over estimate! Apologies...

I, for one, am *very* excited about the impending demise of Java on my machines...

Just use the admin console standalone. I don't consider it safe to enable Java in web browsers, and neither do most of the browser makers.

Yes, you can limit it to specific sites. If you remember to do that.

Did that with the shortcut and it kept locking up my machine.

Hi diggler,

What do you mean by "locking up my machine"? Could it be related to any of the following?

Sounds like the sort of symptom I had when I had my CPU overclocked.

With v5.0.7 I had my win 7 x 32 laptop lock up many times without any method to escape or abort the admin console.

Roughly about 6 or 7 times I had to use <cntl><alt><del> to get to the task manager to kill the process before I could gain control of the OS again.

I haven't seen it with v5.0.8 yet but I haven't used it much. I haven't seen it lock up, re-login request, hang, blank out the icons at the top, or completely lock up the process yet, even once.

java version 8 build 111 loaded Dec 25, 2016 currently.

Tonight I had my program load time exceed the java session timeout time and my login credentials were again requested before it could load the programs and variables. It's getting non-functional on slower computers.

After a second login the admin console cannot be trusted and needs to be rebooted starting the failure cycle over again.

This is a java problem. In the last few years java has become so slow it makes some machine useless.

You mean you have issues like this?

Left the admin console open overnight on my Windows 7 machine and in the morning everything is crawling slow to open and my memory is maxed out. Using the admin.jsp - Yeah Java! Who ever decided this was a good biz decision to rely their products on should be fired. Hopefully the same mistake won't be made again.

Edit: For those who don't know that's 13GBs of memory used OVERNIGHT!
