jayhova
Hi All, I'm new to ISY and Z-Wave and have a question regarding a new Aeotec Multisensor 6 I just installed. How can I tell from the ISY if it was paired securely? I paired it using the secure pairing instructions that came with the Multisensor. For that matter how do I tell if my lock (Schlage Connect) was also paired securely? Any help would be appreciated. BTW does anyone know what the binary sensor is for on the Multisensor? Thanks. Harvvm
My understanding is that if it was included it was successful. As far as the Binary Sensor I did not see that on either of my 6 series. However on the original Gen5s the Binary Sensor is actually the Motion Sensor. (Changes state when motion is detected). The Motion Sensor is always on. I believe it just indicates that the Motion Sensor is enabled.
jayhova
My understanding from the Multisensor manual is that you can add the devices in non-secure or secure mode. So, I wanted to confirm that it was in fact added as secure. I didn't see anything obvious from the node API query but I could be missing something. As for the binary sensor I have both the binary and motion sensor listed in my ISY. They also have different Z-Wave addresses.
Harvvm
I have never been able to include a secure device non-secure. It as always fails for me. What firmware are you at? I am at 5.0.8. I added my 6s at 5.0.4 because the older multi sensors became unstable at 5.x.x. When I went to 5.0.7 they all stared or king again. Try activating the motion sensor and see which one responds. If you watch the debug messages while you are adding the new device, the message is different when you include a device securely, but I don't know if there is a way to tell after the fact. Mmm... that seems like a pretty important feature for the ISY UI to have -- to indicate which devices are secure and which aren't.

Good to know I'm not the only one who can't find this. Now if we can get one of these awesome ISY engineers I've been hearing about to add this quickly that would be cool!
