I am waiting for a used ISY994i to arrive that I bought on eBay.  Is there anything I should do when receiving it to wipe the programing out of it and set it to factory default when I receive it?  Are there any issues I should be aware of when trying to use a used ISY?

Factory reset it first.

Then check the model number and if it is an ISY99 (no 4) only purchase older Insteon devices that are still compatible with the old version.

I can't imagine anybody selling a current model but, to each his own. Some homes just aren't good enough for one. :)

Fire up the ISY first (if you can) to determine if any modules are installed. If not, then factory reset both the PLM and the ISY. If there are modules installed, then contact UDI about keeping/updating them.

It consists of holding down the rest poke hole for about 30 seconds until a certain light pattern happens.

After factory reset admin/admin is required to gain access.
