Ajax
Guys, Just installed a BE469 deadbolt, and had an interesting thought. I would like to have my deadbolt unlock automatically when my Nest Protect smoke alarm goes off. How would I accomplish this? I have an ISY994i with Z-wave, isy portal, Echo Dot's. The reasoning is that I have young children that cannot reach the deadbolt yet and would be nice to know that that would not stop them from getting out incase of a fire! Thanks Link to comment
Michel Kohanim
Hi Ajax, This is definitely doable either through Polyglot/NEST or through NEST/IFTTT/ISY Portal. But, you cannot do it without one of the above. With kind regards, Michel Link to comment
ResIpsa
My understanding is that the delay in triggering a recipe in IFTTT can be up to 15 minutes due to polling intervals. This is actually the reason I stopped using IFTTT to trigger my Hue lights. Link to comment
Ajax
Great thanks, so you guys recommend I go down the polyclot/nest road since both would be new to me. Link to comment
