Dome Water Shut off - Z-wave

Featured Replies

Posted

thought I read some reviews on amazon that the DOME water shut off works with the ISY.

I have it 5 ft from my ISY and I can't get it to detect the DOME?

Anyone use the Dome water shut off?

I am pressing the button 3 times quickly and still the ISY won't detect it.

Thanks

Describe in detail the steps you are taking and the results you see. BTW, most Z-Wave devices require that you exclude them first, once or twice.

Pretty sure my problem was proximity to my ISY - once I placed the DOME directly next to my ISY it included no problem. I'll have to read more why Zwave is like that for inclusion.

Thanks!

I found this in the documentation, "This Water Main Shut-Off Valve also functions as a Z-Wave signal extender."  It doesn't mention this device being a secure repeater, but IIRC secure repeaters have to be included very close to the ISY.  I understand that this is a security feature, intended to prevent snooping in on the key exchange during secure inclusion.
