V2.7 Upgrade for ISY-26

Featured Replies

Posted

I am confused by the instructions for the upgrade.

My configuration now: ISY-26 V2.6 Firmware per the Info page. Is the display different if 2.6.1 or 2.6.5?

Do I have to????:

1) Download & reload 2.6 anyway?

2) Download 2.7 manually

3) Have the ports changed so I have to disable internet?

4) Load 2.7

5) Re-enable internet again?

I also assume that the upgrade should only be made when local (i.e. not when connected via the internet) - may need a hard boot.

Please clarify steps. My 2.6 version has been running for nearyy a year without problems or reboot!

Hi Martyn -

I apologize, it is confusing. To be certain, I went ahead and rolled back my testbed ISY-26 here to 2.6 and did a direct upgrade to 2.7.0 - and it went flawlessly.

I would suggest the following for you:

- disable all firewall and anti-virus software

- ensure you have a good backup of your ISY

- login to the admin console and disable your internet access

- perform an automatic upgrade of your ISY from the HELP menu

- close all web browsers, clear your Java cache

- once your ISY finishes booting, login to the admin console and re-enable internet access

- also be sure to request and install a SSL certificate (via the HELP menu)

At this point you should be up and running with 2.7.0!

Also, for the record, firmware 2.6 is actually different than 2.6.0 listed in the upgrade instructions. Due to memory limitations on the ISY-26, we needed to create a dumbed-down firmware to free memory before firmware upgrades in some scenarios. It is a non-functional firmware and should only be installed temporarily before upgrading to the latest firmware. Though this temporary firmware load is not required in all cases, it is required in some - and there's no harm in loading it even when not needed.

Please let us know if you have any issues.

Mike:

So if I understand right. My old 26 which was never upgraded from 2.6, can just be manually upgraded to 2.7 with no other event required?

Also, what version did my new 99Pro (recieved a couple weeks ago) have installed. If 2.6, I'll assume that when I set it up, I will also just do a straight upgrade to 2.7.

Thanks.

Tim

Correct. AutoUpdate should ask you to install v.2.7.0 when you open the Administrative Console. The User Guide for 2.7 can be found on the menu Help/UDI Wiki (Help Contents).

The 99 will not have 2.7 installed and will also AutoUpdate after you register the device with UDI.
