  Salutations all!

Thought that I would stop by and say hello to everyone. Looking forward to getting started.

After finally having enough with the lack of real Insteon/X10 support, and the inability to link my terribly reliable (e.g. in a good way) X10 equipment using a Vera controller, I decided to bite the bullet and purchased an ISY44i- ZW yesterday. I guess I should have taken the "Blue Pill" to begin with!

I was going to hold off with the ZWave, but figured what the heck...I have one of those (yet to be installed) Monoprice locks, and a few misc. devices.

Looking forward to seeing what I can do with this bad boy! I do a fair amount of programming at work, but I just didn't consider the Vera friendly from a customization standpoint. Too much of it was all Greek to me, yet I write inline Assembly for some of my low-level routines, and have written a lot of Parallel and Serial I/O in my days.

Though  I never considered it earlier, I wonder if I can make this thing talk to my ancient (as in almost 20 years old) HAI Omni II panel. I was looking at the Elk, but that was going to cut down on my charitable contributions for the year, and I have a bunch of keypads, an expander, serial I/O, etc. . Who knows, after peeking around these forums, maybe someone has already done it.

Looking forward to the community, and maybe I can pay it forward with some positive experiences of my own.

  Regards, Marc

Welcome to the forums!!!

With your assembly language experience you should do well once you adapt to the concepts.

ISY994i has been the most fun, I have had, without taking my clothes off.
