Is there an official documented way to unit test Insteon components, like the:

 

PLM

SwitchLinc

ApplianceLinc

Motion Sensors

 

When a component fails for any reason, is there a way to determine from the Event Log if the component has indeed suffered a failure? Versus a communication issue?

Hello matapan,

 

The only thing we can currently test is the PLM by doing Tools->Diagnostics->PLM Status/Info. Beyond that, there's basically no way of knowing if the problem is obstruction of communications or a defective device for both exhibit the same symptoms: they do not respond to ISY.
