Converting a 8 button KPL to a 6 Button KPL.

I have a few 8 Button KPl's that I have found a 6 button KPL would have been a better coice as I cannot create any more meaningful scence for that key pad. I am under the impression that you can convert a 8 button to a 6 button with smarthome's Color change kit # 2401AL6. What is the procedure for making this change as far as the ISY is concerned? Do I remove the 8 button KPL from the ISY, do the conversion and then rediscover the 6 button KPL as a new device? Is there a better way to do it?

Yes, you will have to remove the KPL from the ISY, factory reset the KPL, and add it back in.

Before deleting the device and adding it back, is there a way to obtain a list of scenes and programs where the device was used so one can add everything back properly?

Hi matapan,

 

You do not have to worry about programs as they are address based so when you add the device back, all programs should reappear.

 

For your scenes, please use Tools | Topology for a list.
