Aeotec MultiSensor 6 strange behavior with ISY

Featured Replies

I have an Aeotec MultiSensor 6 ZW100-A sensor that I have connected via Zwave to my ISY -- I've been playing with it (including and excluding it multiple times) and I noticed some strange behavior -- if I include it as a non-secure device I get 4 devices - Multilevel Sensor, Motion Sensor, Binary Sensor, and Tamper Alarm.

This is different from what I get if I include it as a secure device:  Multilevel Sensor, Motion Sensor, Tamper Alarm, and sometimes a Glass Break Sensor, Tamper Code Sensor, and one other (can't remember now).   I'd expect to see exactly the same sensors and values whether the device was as a secure device or insecure device.

Has anyone else seen this sort of behavior?

Thanks!

Mitch

I forgot to mention this is on ISY firmware version 5.0.10

I can't remember if I added all three of mine in secure mode or not and I don't know how to check after the fact.

I am also using 5.0.10 and I get all six devices you mentioned: binary sensor, glass break alarm, intrusion alarm, motion sensor, tamper alarm, tamper code alarm. One of mine will give me a seventh, low battery, even though it says the battery is just at 50%

I assumed this is just the way the battery operated devices work in that you'll only hear from those z-wave components when they get triggered. I have some garage door sensors that I really had to shake around to get all the features to register

This morning I got a new device on one of my Multisensors - an energy meter. It registers as zero watts

I used to get spurious devices on these Multisensors as well.  Running firmware > 5.0.9 allows you to suppress these using the following menu: Z-Wave | Options | Freeze ISY Nodes.  I haven't seen anything but the devices shown in the screen shot since.

Good to know, thanks

Thanks, glad to see my device is behaving consistent with what others are seeing.

FWIW today one of my two devices is showing Moisture as a %.  0 to 10% shows one decimal place then integers to 100%.  Firmware 4.5.4.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have one that has been showing up as a pulse sensor and within the multilevel sensor display I have seismic intensity and sometimes have a tank level datapoint. I have another one that has never displayed anything "abnormal" so far, but I've only had them in the system for a couple weeks.
