Configuration file error

Featured Replies

I have a ISY994i Pro that is working correctly.

I bought a second to control devices in a different portion of my property.

To reach the new controller, I'm using the Pro's URL in a browser to communicate with it.

I've created an empty scene and 3 devices. The devices respond to on/off commands.

When I try to add a device to a scene, it fails. An error message says:

"Could not open file to read

[/conf/insteng.opt]

Could not open:

[/conf/insteng.opt]"

I assume each Pro controller needs a separate configuration file. How can I get the second controller to find and use an appropriate file?

Thanks.

Some browsers have difficulty with the ISY. Did you try the ISY finder? Both your ISYs should be listed. If not, then add the missing ISY including the port, if any.

The ISY finder sees both ISY software sees both controllers. I can communicate with the new controller. I still get an error saying it can't add any existing device to the scene.

In checking, it seems that I controlled the original devices through programs rather than scenes.

Will do that.

Program are inherently slower than scenes. Scenes continue to function without the ISY, programs don't. You can use programs to get things going, but in the long run it's better to solve your problem or you may find worse down the line. Give ISY support a try.
