Z-Wave Open/Close Sensor Query

Featured Replies

HI,

I'm using the Insteon Open/Close sensors.  After a power outage and after the query all program runs, the sensor status is blank.

Does anyone use any Z-Wave Open/Close sensors that can be queried for status?  Like after a power outage?

Thanks

Like battery-powered insteon sensors, all the battery-powered z-wave sensors I've seen go into "deep sleep" mode and cannot be queried.

I understand that the gen5 z-wave spec allows for something called "beaming", which apparently can wake up battery-powered devices for queries, but the ISY doesn't (yet) do gen5.

Thanks for the response.

All three of my z-wave door locks respond to queries and are battery operated.  I guess not all battery operated devices are created equal.
