2245-222 Hub II ~ Smarthome Hub Repair?

Featured Replies

In the older Smarthome Insteon forum a member indicated the company now offers a Hub II repair option: http://forum.smarthome.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19139 I'm not sure what the costs are if any but this is something new for the company.

Also on a related matter it seems the 2245-222 is seeing a similar pattern of 2~3 year in use failures.

I also saw that information posted on the Smarthome Forums.

I suspect they are suffering the same power supply capacitor issues.

Basically a similar switching power supply and capacitor brands.

I saw in the Insteon Forums. Some adventitious member replaced the capacitors and it worked again.

I honestly thought offering this repair service was really interesting ~ yet strange. It would be incredible if they extended this service to repair 2413S PLM, switch / KPL's!

I doubt this would be done though.
