Flashing Error when Installing Z Wave Dongle

Featured Replies

Hi -

I tried installing a Z Wave dongle and every time I do so I get a flashing Red error light on the ISY and I am unable to connect admin console.

Any ideas why this may be happening? I am installing it in the bottom expansion slot of the ISY.

Thanks

You are using the correct expansion slot. The first thing to check is that the module is well seated into the slot and all the way in.

BTW, you can use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts on the module. Just be sure to blow away any remains. Canned air works well.

I actually got it to work temporary, I installed the z wave plugin then the expansion module and that seemed to work. I was able to reset the module and exclude a device. However after a few minutes it kicked me out and when I went to the ISY the error light was flashing.

I removed the expansion card completely and it took about 2 reboots for the device to come back without the flashing light. I checked the logs and I don't see any errors. Any ideas what could be causing the issue or any other steps I can take to diagnose the issue?

Thanks

That it worked at all and then didn't suggest that you seek: ISY Support.
