Posted December 26, 20177 yr I would like to know how this next version will compare to the current console. I am not real fond of the existing interface, and I am curious if I would be reasonable to move to the newer approach. I am hoping that one thing that shows us is the ability to copy and past things on the console pages. It would make managing things much easier.
December 26, 20177 yr Picture the V4 admin console, and then change any text that says V4 to V5. Interface is identical; with added support for additional Z-Wave features, variable precision, and node servers.
December 26, 20177 yr Author Thanks, I was hoping. Just cut and past would make things a lot simpler to set up. Split screens even better.
December 26, 20177 yr Harold Copy and paste is a broad concept. In both V4 and V5, you can: copy and paste text in many areas (Control C/V .. can be helpful with long names & lines of text like comments) make copies of existing programs, network resources and notifications, (etc) Export groups of things and re-import Paul
December 26, 20177 yr Author I must be doing something wrong. I have never found a way to cut and paste in the console. I agree ctl C/V would be very helpful if it worked for me.
December 26, 20177 yr ctrl c / v work with text when you have text selected/highlighted There are copy functions for programs (right click, pick copy), network resources and notifications (pick the item and press the copy button at the bottom). Paul
December 27, 20177 yr Author OK. I just did not absorb what you said could be pasted. Not of interest. Not what I meant by being able to copy and paste. I am talking about the items while looking at devices and scenes. And having a split window ability so you could see something at the top of the list of items while altering an item several pages down. I can see why they want to use the little windows so they can keep track of what is changing as an isolated action rather than noting changes from a paste. Oh well. It works but it is cumbersome.
