Mini Remote - Green 1011

Recommended Posts

I just installed my first 2342-222 RemoteLinc 2 (Mini Remote).  I added each button to various ISY scenes in the Admin Console, and everything seems to be working okay. But I when I look at this device in the Admin Console, all eight buttons (A-H) constantly show a green 1011 in front of it. And the 1011s never go away- no matter how many times I put the Mini Remote into setup mode and click to write updates to the device.  Whenever I try, it shows that it's writing, and then seems to finish. But the 1011s never go away- even though, as I said before, the device seems to be operating correctly.

I read in these Forums that this is a known problem with the old RemoteLinc 1- which in part is why I thought I'd try the newer Mini Remote.  Is this a common problem with all RemoteLincs under ISY firmware and UI v4.6.2?

The older 2440 RemoteLinc does have a difficulty, but it's different. The 1011 usually means a communication problem which is unusual in a battery-powered (RF only) device unless the battery is a bit rundown. Power-up the remote. Is there a red LED lit? If so, then the remote needs recharging. After the red LED goes out, right click on the remote ans select Restore Device followed by Write Updates to device. any success?

BTW, if any one button of a device shows an error, then they all will.

I just followed the following recommended steps:

1) I plugged the charger into the Mini Remote, which caused the red light to come on for about five minutes- after which I disconnected the charger.

2) I put the Mini Remote into linking mode and did a Restore Device

3) While still in linking mode, I did a Write Updates to Device.

Results: Unchanged.  The Mini Remote appears able to properly control my scenes, but the Admin Console still shows green 1101 before MR buttons A through H.

The Device Communication Event Viewer seems to be indicating difficulty communicating.

Did you get any resolution to this?  I'm experiencing exactly the same symptoms.  Everything is working as expected, but the 1101 indicators don't ever disappear from the admin console.  I have 2 remotes behaving in exactly the same way.  I wouldn't care about this, except it appears that the admin console interprets this as a communication failure and will always try to write to the device when I'm doing any other write operation.  It's certainly slowing things down.

Welcome to the forum Tim!!!

Green 1101 is ISY trying to write a binary stream (1011?)  to the device. Battery devices cannot accept it until they are placed into linking mode. Once written successfully the 1101 flag should clear.

To add to Larry's answer, press the small set button on the bottom of one of the remotes and hold it until it beeps. Then go to the admin console's Main tab, pick any of the nodes for remote button , right click on it and pick "Write updates to device". That should clear them all after a minute or so of progress dialogue boxes. To get out of linking mode, you can press the set button again, or it will eventually do it on its own after a few minutes and beep when it does.

The way RF devices work, you need to do each remote, one at a time.. eg you can't put them both in linking mode simultaneously.

I have exactly this same problem. I have tried all of the things suggested in this thread, but the 1101 just doesn't want to go away.

My ISY Firmware and UI are still at v4.6.2. Could that be contributing to my problem?

Not likely.

What is the remote device that has the green 1011 beside it?

It is a 2342-222 Mini Remote Keypad, 8 Scene v.39

UPDATE:  It appears I was having a signal strength problem.  If I put my mini-remote into linking mode and then physically set it on top of one of my plugged in dual-band LampLinc Dimmer modules, the Write Updates to Device was able to complete successfully. No more 1011.

Doesn't sound good for that unit. If it is new, I would consider sendng it back for a replacement.

Does it function OK normally?
