Irakandjii Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 I need a device that has at least 2 buttons, one to lock the other to unlock a door . I have created scenes that work with an Insteon RemoteLink 2 and they work, but the design of the remote is unsuitable (too small and complex) for the target user. I tried using a Aeotec zWave Key Fob Gen 5 (ZW088), it is not yet supported and may end up being too small as well. So I need another solution. I am looking at an Aeotec Aeon Labs Wallmote Quad Has this device been confirmed to work as a scene controller with the ISY? I would configure/program as follows. Unlock -> send command Lock -> send command Toggle front walk lights Toggle hall lights Thanks in advance
daveman918 Posted January 23, 2018 Posted January 23, 2018 Have you seen the zwave minimote from Aeotec? Not sure if it's supported though and it may be end of life. They also just released the Nanomote.
jc986 Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 I've got two of the Wallmote Quad units I'm using with the V5 code. Currently I've only been able to get the scene button devices to turn a scene on. Pressing the button a second time does not turn the scene off. What I've done for the time being is to use the dimmer button devices in programs to set a status variable (on = 1 and off = 0) and have programs perform actions based upon the status variables. The Wallmotes will be more interesting once the V5 code supports them more fully.
Irakandjii Posted February 2, 2018 Author Posted February 2, 2018 I bought both the minimote and wall mote. I am using V5. They both work, but I failed to specify I need a feed back mechanism. Looks like I need a secondary device or just use a KeypadLink in a desktop enclosure where I can light an LED or lamp to indicate the door is in an unlocked state..
stusviews Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 I use KPLs to create 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7 device controllers. That's possible because large KPL button fits well over two small buttons. Just create scenes that include the pair of buttons as controllers of the same scene. Depending on the configuration, a button pair is also set to be On-only or Off-only.
