Switching alarm modes by opening a door?

I always sleep with my bedroom door shut and I have a door sensor on that bedroom door.  I would like to be able to arm my ELK and have the motion sensors turned on at night as long as my bedroom door is closed.  Is it possible to  switch alarm modes from away (while sleeping) to night (as soon as my bedroom door opens)?

Thanks

Not to be persnickety, but this seems like a "Just Try It" sort of thing. I would be interested in hearing your results.

SMH I don’t get it either. How can you have active motions and not trigger it? Usually night instant has motions turned off and perimeters are instant alarm - ie night instant. IMHO I would either make that door bypass-able, then bypass it and leave the rest night instant. You could also put a motion outside the bedroom door so if anyone walked up (if that’s possible) you could get a notification via an ISY/Elk module program hopefully to wake you up, but then wouldn’t that be too late? Maybe a better suggestion would be close the door and put an extra magnet on the window(s) so you could have them a quarter or halfway open. Then if someone rips the screen and lifts the window you have an instant alarm, plus still work shut.

I just wanted the motion detectors to be on at night while I was sleeping.

Sure. Put the whole bank of motion alarm programs into a folder and install a condition for the folder based on the door being closed.

This will get complicated when you start to consider guests sleeping over and the wife closing the door to get dressed while they are in your house. The logic for a security system gets unwieldy despite trying to keep it simple. Then there are false alarms that happen with Insteon MSes you will need to allow for, depending on how serious your alarms are.
