Amazon echo not working

Everything’s has been working great for a long time. Came home today and asked Alexa to turn on the window lamp and the response was window lamp doesn’t support that. Tried a few other lights and same thing. Anyone have any idea what is wrong.

Just checked every lamp in my house (total of 8 ) and a get the same response. All the ceiling lights work.

Didn’t do anything and it’s working again. Must have been an Amazon issue.

FWIW... I saw issues with Alexa earlier today too.  Seems to work now.

I having some new problems with Alexa as well. For a long time now I have been able to say "Alexa, turn on the lights" when I walked into my bedroom and "Alexa, turn the lights off" when I was ready to go to sleep, and it worked swimmingly. Starting around Wednesday or Thursday this week, when I say "Alexa, turn (on|off) the lights," she says "Please try again using percent for brightness or degrees for temperature." I can still turn on and off individual lights by name, but the group functionality has changed.

Was there a code change to the ISY skill uploaded recently, or is this an issue on Amazon's side?

The code in ISY Portal has changed to support routines but the most important change is that Amazon disabled V1 and will do the same with V2 soon.

My point is that "Alexa, turn off the lights" was working, now it is not. What changed?

Are there more details on what was involved in the ISY Portal change to support routines? Is the message "Please try again using percents for brightness or degrees for temperature" something that comes from the ISY Skill? I have literally never heard that message before from Alexa in any context until two nights ago.

Ok, so mine turned out to be my fault. I had put the Christmas tree in our bedroom in the group. We only took that tree down a few weeks ago, and this week I disabled the module because it was causing errors in the ISY. Evidently, having the disabled module in the group was causing the strange return of Alexa. Once the disabled module was removed from the group, it went back to functioning normally. 

Don't know if this is a problem in the ISY Skill that needs to be logged or not, or whether it is a problem in Alexa's logic.

When using a group, Alexa will send indivudual turn on/off for each group members.

If one fails, such as when the device no longer exists, an error is returned to Anazon.

Then, it's up to Amazon to decide what to do if a few are successful and one fails.

The only recent change to the skill is related to ISY scenes exposed as Alexa scenes. The change was to enable the capability to use scenes in Alexa routines. 

If your Alexa routine is exposed as a light/outlet/switch, there's no change.

This morning when I said Alexa turn on the Windows lamp it did it this time, but when I said Alexa turn on the hall light it said the hall light does not support this. So it must hear me because it is repeating it back. I noticed in my skills section that ISY was enabled and ISY optimized for smart home 3 was enabled. I disabled the ISY and tried and the hall light and it worked. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not because it seems different devices are experiencing the same thing. Everything had been working perfectly for a very long time before this started.

Edit  Just said Alexa turn on the Window Lamp and it said the Window lamp does not support that. It is definitely random.

My problem is with scenes for 3-way switches. Alexa can't control them now in the Alexa App on my phone or when they are included in a group or routine when previously there was not a problem.  Thank you.

Scenes now work a bit differently, and they are as Amazon would expect them - not controllable from the app.

If you want to control them from the app, you should expose them as devices to Alexa. To do this, go to ISY Portal, open up the scene, and under "Alexa Category", choose Light instead of Scene. Then ask Alexa to discover devices. 

The scene will disappear from your scenes, but you will now have a device which you can control and add to your group.

@bmercier I have the scenes set as you instructed and still unable to control them via the app, group other routine. What else could I be doing wrong?

Did you ask "Alexa, discover my devices"?

Then in the app, refresh the screen. Under smart home, you should no longer see the scene under "scenes". It should appear under "Devices".
