Unlock with Voice/App

So I recently got an e-mail from Yale locks saying that they now supported unlock by voice and through the Alexa app. Sure enough, if you click "edit" on one of your (Yale) locks there are now options to turn on unlock by voice (using a PIN) and through the app. It lets me turn these settings on but nothing happens. No error message, just nothing. I can lock them so I know the locks are communicating with the ISY properly. I'm guessing the ISY does not yet support this recently added feature? Is this something that is being worked on?

The short answer is yes. The unlock feature is coming.

With GH person ID you could have each person have to say their contributing phrase. After Spock, Cap't Asbril could give his confirmation :)

Aye aye Captain......

The truth is that I don't have a Schlage lock but put one in my Son's home. Next time I am there I will check and report back to the troops.

nathagt,

This is an older topic, but just wanted to let you know that unlock by voice works with ISY locks.

When you enable unlock, you need to enter a 4 digit code.

When you ask Alexa to unlock, she will ask you for that code.

Is there any way in the API  to implement that functionality for door open?

There is an API to unlock the door, and it is already implemented.

There is no API to allow the unlock. You have to go the the GH App, edit the device, enable unlock by voice, and choose a PIN.

Oh, I thought this was for Alexa based on the topic. So the Unlock by code is for Google Home only? Also, I was asking if there was similar functionality in the API (for Alexa) for "Open" and "Close" as there was for "Lock" and "Unlock."

Oops, this is indeed for Alexa.

Too much context switching :-)

So you were asking about the "open" and "close". We have no control over that. Alexa interprets the voice, and calls our API. Because she does not understand open/close, our API is not called.
