New Dongle Install: Unrecognized Z-Wave firmware

[ZWAVE-FW        ] Unrecognized Z-Wave firmware version/library [Z-Wave 6.01]

Just ordered and installed the zwave dongle in the 994 and purchased the zwave module, the ISY can see the dongle and I get the full menu options under the z-wave menu but it doesn't do anything. Thought a reseat might help, so I removed the dongle, powered the ISY without the dongle install and the system indicated the dongle was missing under the zwave menu.  After reinstall of the dongle, I get the same behavior as before.  So it knows there is a card installed but it appears there is no firmware on the dongle.

All information under zwave information is blank and boot loader is 0.00.

I'm running ISY firmware 4.7.3

Is there a way to force load the firmware and boot loader or is the dongle defective?

Thank you for your help!!

Does 4.7.3 support the new Dongle? For the trial, we needed to be running 5.0.13C....

That is my understanding. 5.0.13C is the minimum supported version for the new version of the ZWave dongle.

Where was it ordered from?

That might make sense.  It is the new dongle no led on it.  The dongle was purchased though Orchestrated Home.

Assuming no reason not to 5.0.13C, right?

Yes, you need at least 5.0.13c. I'm using that with my zwave devices without any issues

Since 5.0.13D is the latest, I recommend going to that. I don’t think C is still available.

I seem to remember someone else reported Orchestrated Home was shipping the beta zwave dongle.

That’s quite bad IMO since it requires purchasers to go with the beta ISY firmware. And the product listing there seems to confirm this (‘500 series’) and then doesn’t mention this beta status at all...

How did they even get it to ship? Seems strange they have them at all.

We had to replace our old isy and plm after a lightning strike.

Unfortunately, I got one of the Orchestrated Home isy's with 5.0.13c on it. (isy994i ZW ir Pro) I upgraded to 5.0.13d.  I cannot get my Schlage BE469 lock added at all.

All I had was the single door lock and an Aeotec range extender 6. That's it.  The isy will add the extender,  but not the lock. I get an error 3 message in the event viewer and the error window here. I tried to add the lock first, then the extender as the wiki says, but I get the window no matter what I do.

I made sure there is a checkmark next to allow secure devices to be added.

I was able to exclude both devices, but cannot add the lock.  My backup was a 4.6.2 and I put it on the isy before I knew I had a beta, so I have a feeling that's part of the issue. I cannot downgrade now, either.  When I try to update, it asks if I want to backup. So I do, then nothing happens. I can click yes, no, or cancel and nothing happens. so I never get past the backup prompt.

Frustrating, because everything (devices, scenes, programs) works fine except the Z wave.

The door lock is 15 feet away and darn near line of sight.  Do I have to remove it from the door and set it next to the isy to get this to work? I have a vacation home with the same lock and isy and it works 24 feet away through 2 walls without a range extender.

I would suggest moving the ISY so it is right next to the lock. Then exclude the lock twice before trying to enroll it. Once enrolled, you can move the ISY back to its original location.

Thank you for the help!  It was the FW level.
