CT100 Thermostat - won't change settings until query is performed

Featured Replies

Hi - I have a CT100 z-wave thermostat.  It has the "C" wire and I confirmed that it runs without batteries installed.  I included it into the ISY994i/IR Pro with the z-wave dongle.  Did a Sync and heal and the thermostat shows up fine.  However, if I change any parameter like Heat or Cool setpoint, the parameter does'nt change until I hit the query button.  This isn't good as I am using eKeypad Pro on my iphone and when I change a parameter, I have to go to the ISY console an hit query for it to take.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

I should add that the  parameter on the thermostat itself does change. The issue is that the ISY doesn't show the change until a query is performed.

I have a CT100 and it works the same way. This is because the CT100 does not have the instant status update feature. You could have a program in ISY to query the thermostat every so often, so you have the correct status.

Thank you!  I'm new to z-wave and I didn't realize that there was a feature called "instant status update".  Do you know of a good thermostat with that feature?

Thanks again.

@cwagner2401 , I'm sure there are z-wave thermostats that have instant updating, I'm just not aware of them. I have three z-wave thermostats and none support instant updates. It's not been a huge deal for me. However, I know it is for some.

I see the same thing, but I am able to do a query from my smartphone via the MobiLinc app (via the little circular arrows button).  I also wanted to monitor the thermostat sensed temperature in a program, so I wrote a program to query the thermostat every four hours.  Crude, but it works.  Similar issue with the sensed temperature on my Aeotec water leak detector (and probably most battery-powered Z-wave devices).

I got three of these thermostat's still in their boxes. Let me just confirm: The ISY will not be aware of the running status & the temperature until queried?

If you have that model, I do not believe it has been updated to have instant status support. If the ones you have do not support instant status then this would still apply.

Ok thanks.

I have the GoControl Z-Wave thermostats running on batteries that work just fine, show instant status etc.  I'm also using Honeywell Z-Wave thermostats powered by the C wire, both models work fine with the ISY setup.

Which model Honeywell do you have?
